Who is interested in writing them for me as a request?
Just Updated
Hi guys ! I've been a Wolves of the Beyond lover for over 10 years ! I discovered today this community and I was wondering if people were still active and maybe down for some roleplay ?
They seem amazing and definitely something I would read but anybody know other books like this? (Wolf books not werewolves)
Just testing how active this wiki is
Would it sound like a Gaelic language, given the Gaelic-ish spellings? Would it sound like a Slavic language? Would it sound like a mix of the former two and the Sino-Tibetan languages?
I remember making a note of how Old Wolf would be read, for example “Y” makes an “uh” sound, and “C” when it’s not at the beginning of a word would be a glottal stop.
So, what do you guys think Old Wolf would sound like?

New here and my favorite characters are Faolan, Edme, Mharie, Dearlea, and The Whistler.
Also my favorite book of the series? I like Lone Wolf and Star Wolf.
Ik I'm gonna get notifications on two wikis now, but I would like to know if anyone's here anymore. If not then oops :|
Did this wiki die?
Passage from The Dawning.
Hello, everyone! I’m new here, and I noticed that this wiki isn’t very active. I got into the series last month and I’m really enjoying it— I finished Lone Wolf a couple days ago. ‘^_^
It got pretty crazy when (SPOILERS)
Thunderheart died, and when Faolan jumped over the fire wall. I’m hoping to get farther into the series, and I’m thinking of becoming more active here. Welcome, everyone!
So yeah for my school hw project i was looking for info about wolves and i randomly stumbled across this wiki... (O-O)

Why did every single gnaw wolf get mended? It makes sense for wolves of the Watch to be mended bc they guarded the Ember which was destroyed in the earthquakes, but ordinary gnaw wolves had no connection to the Ember so why were they mended as well? I know it’s good for the plot line that the Whistler gains a beautiful voice and Heep gains a tail only to lose it later on, but what’s the explanation for it beyond the plot line?
Most or all of the wolves still remaining in the Beyond were assumed to die when the earthquakes struck after the long cold seasons, and we know that Faolan led his small clan to the Distant Blue. But then in BotI, all the Clans are back as if they never left or died.
My thoughts are that during the long cold famine season, Clan wolves that didn’t die from starvation or Skaars dancing went south to the owl kingdoms: the Shadow Forest, Silverveil, Ambala, etc. We see spring returning to the world at the end of WotB bc the Ice Bridge melts entirely, so we can assume that spring returns to the Hoolian kingdoms and the Beyond as well. So after some time, the wolves would’ve likely returned to the Beyond and split back up into their Clans. In BotI, it’s mentioned that wolves returned from the Distant Blue, so I suppose that means Faolan and his clan or their descendants also returned to the Beyond.
This isn’t canon information, but we don’t know for a fact that all the wolves of the Clans died out during the famine or earthquakes, we only see stragglers. So it’s definitely possible that they migrated south, and would explain their return in later years with enough numbers to rebuild the Clans in BotI.
In WotB, it seems as though all the gnaw wolves and watch wolves were born with a deformity, but something Hamish says in The Outcast makes me question this. When he is talking to Coryn about the watch, he says this, “All of the gnaw wolves who go there (to serve in the watch) suffer some sort of defect either from birth or injury.” Injury can apparently lead to a wolf being considered for the watch, but the watch is only for gnaw wolves so how would a previously healthy wolf who became permanently injured become a gnaw wolf?
My thoughts are that if an adult wolf, a wolf over one year of age, gets a limp or loses an eye or something like that where they wouldn’t be able to hunt or earn their keep, they are typically given three choices. One, stay as a low ranking wolf, higher than a gnaw wolf but lower than all the other wolves. Two, leave for good to become a lone wolf. Three, leave the Clan for a certain period of time, say three moons, a full season, and if they survive alone that long, they can be accepted back as a gnaw wolf, ranking as low as any other gnaw wolf but with the possibility of being selected for the watch someday. The period of three moons that they would be alone would essentially be the adult wolf’s version of being left on a tummfraw. If a pup under one year of age somehow got a permanent injury, they would likely be treated the same way as a born malcadh, abandoned somewhere for one or two days.

I came up with this quiz for Wolves of the Beyond fans if anyone would like to try it out!
If your wiki community is in favor, we can insert this quiz into articles. It would show up either on a specific article, or all articles within a specified category (which the community could choose - I would recommend Category:Books), and it would appear directly below the table of contents on these pages. It would only appear for logged-out users due to the differences in how user experiences are catered to readers and editors.
Also, please note that I actually haven't read the series. Part of the reason I created this quiz was to test the quizmaking process for a franchise with which I wasn't familiar. I don't believe I made any mistakes, but feedback would be appreciated, especially if there are errors!
